British War Medal; Victory Medal 1914-19; (L.Cpl. MFP.); Army Meritorious Service Medal, GVR., (Pte.- L.Cpl. MFP.); Silver Jubilee Medal 1935, GVR., privately engraved naming (Suptt. P.Mobbs, Worce. Consty.) : (PETER MOBBS - Born in 1876 and joined the Worcestershire Constabulary as a Police Constable in 1897 : In 1900 he married Louisa Dews of Stirchley and together they had two children, a daughter named Louisa and a son who was named after the Chief Constable Herbert Sutherland, who was to follow his father into the Police Force : During the First World War he served in France with the Military Foot Police and was awarded the Army Meritorious Service Medal announced in London Gazette dated 22 January 1919 : After the war he returned to the Worcestershire Constabulary and rose steadily through the ranks to become Superintendent : He was awarded the King's Silver Jubilee Medal 1935 and retired the following year : He was described as "the father of the county force" but it is not clear who conferred the title upon him.) : Sold with verification, copy London Gazette entry and copy of his profile taken from, "From Fruit Trees To Furnaces - A History Of The Worcestershire Constabulary" which includes a photograph of the recipient in uniform as an Inspector, taken at Oldbury around 1928 in which he is wearing his First World War medals.
