Boy. 1 RN.) : (FRANK REGINALD POLLARD - Born 22 October 1899 at Skipton, Yorkshire, an Office Boy when he joined the Royal Navy as a Boy Class 2 at HMS. 'Ganges' on 14 October 1915 : Advanced to Boy Class 1 from 14 January 1916 and posted to HMS. 'Pembroke' from 14 March 1916 and then to HMS. 'Vanguard' from 2 May 1916 : On 9 July 1917 'Vanguard' was at anchor at Scapa Flow when shortly before midnight it suffered a series of internal magazine explosions.
