Wray) : (PERCY HUGH WRAY - Born in Winterhill, County Donegal, Ireland on 7 February 1899, the son of David and Margaret Jane Wray of Trycomell Street, Donegal : He first attested for the 12th. Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers at Londonderry on 20 May 1915 as Private 12/23303 then being only 15 years and 3 months of age : He was subsequently granted a Commission as Second Lieutenant with Princess Victoria's (Royal Irish Fusiliers) on 8 January 1916, still being only 16 Years 11 months of age ((London Gazette 24 January 1916) : He served with the 7th. Battalion in France in 1916 and is recorded in the Battalion War Diary as being wounded in action during the attack at Ginchy, Somme Sector on 9 September 1916, (also reported in the "Civil and Military Gazette" dated 30 September 1916) : The Battalion was subsequently transferred to the Ypres Sector and on 15 October 1916, the 7th. Battalion was amalgamated with the 8th. Battalion to form the 7th./8th.
