1914-15 Star (250392 Pte. R.Scots.); British War Medal; Victory Medal 1914-19 (2. Lieut.) - (ROBERT WILLIAM POTTS : Born 1894 the youngest son of Mr Thomas James and Mrs Margaret Nicholson Potts of 21 Upper Gray Street, Edinburgh : Attended George Heriot's School, Edinburgh 1907-12, where he excelled at sport and played rugby for the school first fifteen. Member of the school Officer Cadet Corps 1910-12 : Apprentice architect, student RIBA. : In October 1914 he attested for 5th.Battalion, Royal Scots and entered the war in the Balkans (Gallipoli) with 1st./5th.Battalion, Royal Scots on 25 April 1915 (The First Day of the Landings) : Invalided home to Scotland. Transferred to Machine Gun Corps as a Cadet: Granted Commission as Second-Lieutenant March 1917 and joined the 25th. Battalion in France from July 1917 : SEVERELY WOUNDED IN ACTION infront of Bapaume on 23 March 1918 and DIED OF HIS WOUNDS the following day. He was buried in Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension.).
