AIF.) : (WILLIAM GEORGE SHARPEN - Born at West Ham, London around 1892, a market gardener by trade at the date of attestation in Victoria, Australia, 8 July 1915 : Posted as Trooper to 8th. Light Horse Regiment and embarked from Melbourne for Egypt on 27 January 1916 : Taken on the strength of 3rd. Reserve Light Horse Regiment at Heliopolis, Egypt from 8 March 1916 and subsequently transferred as Gunner to 11th.
