NELSON, R.Guernsey LI.) : (REGINALD WILLIAM NELSON - Born March 1891 at St.Sampsons, Guernsey, a toolsmith by trade when he attested for the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry on 30 January 1918 : Entered France with the Reinforcement 14 Detatchment from 5 July 1918 and remained in France with the 'Details Battalion': Embarked for the United Kingdom on 21 May 1919 and was transferred to Class 'Z' Army Reserve on Demobilization from 24 June 1919.) Sold with verification, copy Service Papers and two silver Guernsey Football Association, 2nd.Division medals, dated 1907 and 1907-8, manufactured by Arthur Fenwick Ltd 8 Vyse Street, Birmingham, Hallmarks for Birmingham 1906-1907, both engraved on reverse to 'R.NELSON' : War medals with contact marks and heavy edge bruising but naming quite legible, mounted on long lengths of scruffy original silk ribbon : Scarce - Fair to Fine - £395
