Regt.) : ( WILLIAM HENRY ALBERT FORBES - Born 3 March 1873 in the Parish of Stepney, London, a labourer by trade on 7 November 1893 when he attested at Aldershot for the Lincolnshire Regiment : Served at home until 1 February 1895 on which date the Regiment was posted for service in Malta, where it was to remain until 3 February 1897 : The Recipient landed in Egypt on 4 February 1897 and was present with the Regiment at the Battle of The Atbara on 8 April 1898 and the Battle of Omdurman on 2 September 1898 : The Regiment left Egypt for India on 7 November 1898 and the recipient served in India until 16 December 1902 when he returned home to England : He remained in England and was transferred to Army Reserve from 26 March 1903 : He was discharged on termination of engagement on 6 November 1909.) : Sold with verification, copy Service Papers and related research : Mounted on long lengths of original silk ribbon, toned and EF - £645
