British War Medal; Victory Medal 1914-19 (430 Pte., R.Guernsey LI.) : (ARTHUR HENRY DAVEY - Born at St.Peter Port, Guernsey around 1889, and recorded in the Census Records for 1911 as a carter by trade and a resident boarder at Constitution Steps, St Peter Port, Guernsey : He is believed to have been a pre-1916 member of the Royal Guernsey Militia : Served with 1st. Royal Guernsey Light Infantry in France from September 1917 and was invalided sick to England on 3 March 1918 : Returned to France with Reinforcement 15, which embarked 5 September 1918 and arrived at Base Depot, 8 September 1918 : He remained in France with the Details Battalion after the main body of the Regiment had returned to Guernsey in the SS.
