92431 A/CORPORAL HENRY A. DAVIES, ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS :

British War Medal; Victory Medal 1914-19 (A.Cpl.); Territorial Force War Medal 1914-19 (Pte.) : (HENRY ARTHUR DAVIES - Born in the Parish of St Martin, Hereford around 1880 and resident at 4 Coronation Terrace, Foley Street, Hereford on the date of attestation for the South Wales Mounted Brigade, Field Ambulance RAMC. (TF), 29 August 1914 : He was employed as a Police Constable with the Hereford City Police and had been a serving member of the 1st. Herefordshire Rifle Volunteers since 1898 and became a Territorial on formation of the force in 1908 : He had later transferred into the local Herefordshire Bearer Company which subsequently became the RAMC.(TF.) : Upon attestation he was allocated the Service Number 1703 and remained at home until 18 April 1917 when his unit was posted to Salonika and he was renumbered as 92431 : He served at No.48 General Hospital, in Salonika from 21 May 1917 until 20 December 1918 and returned home to England on 11 January 1919 : He was disembodied and discharged in consequence of sickness from 22 March 1919, and was entitled to the Silver War Badge.) : A scarce group to a Herefordshire Police Officer and soldier, sold with verification, copy Service Record and much correspondence regarding the award of the TFWM.
