Naval General Service Medal 1793-1840, bar, 'Syria', officially impressed naming (JOSEPH ROUNSFELL); Baltic Medal 1854-55, unnamed as issued : (JOSEPH ROUNSFELL (sometimes spelt ROUNDSFELL) - Born 7 July 1823, Cornwall : Joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 1st.Class in HMS. 'Thunderer' on 22 May 1840, and served in the ship during the naval bombardment and subsequent capture of Acre, Syria, on 3 November 1840 : Advanced to Ordinary Seaman from 29 August 1842 and transferred into HMS. 'America' as an AB. on 2 March 1844 : Transferred to HMS. 'Maender' on 17 November 1847 and was advanced to the Rank of Captain of the Mizzen Top on 20 February 1849 : Discharged from the Royal Navy on 7 August 1851 : Joined HM. Coast Guard as a Boatman from 14 September 1851 and served until 10 March 1854 when he was recalled for service with the Royal Navy : Entered HMS. 'Caesar' as an AB. on 11 March 1854 and served in the Baltic Sea Campaign : Advanced to the Rank of Captain of the Mizzen Top from 13 September 1854 and remained in the ship until 29 April 1856 : Returned to HM. Coast Guard as Boatman, on 30 April 1856 and rose through the ranks to become Chief Officer 2nd Class on 11 August 1866 : Discharged on 31 August 1878 having then completed in excess of 34 years combined service.) : Sold with verification, copy Service Record and related research : Some light edge nicks but naming not affected : Generally GVF - £1200
