R.Fus.); British War Medal; Victory Medal 1914-19 (2.Lieut.); Memorial Plaque : (ARTHUR JOHNSTON COX - Was born at Masbrough,Yorkshire around 1882, and in 1911 was a Bank Clerk residing with his mother, six sisters, one brother, two boarders and one young female servant at Burlington Gardens, Acton, London : With the outbreak of war in 1914 he enlisted in the 24th.(Sportsman's) Battalion, Royal Fusiliers and was rapidly promoted to the rank of Serjeant and entered France with the Battalion on 15 November 1915 : On 4 January 1917 he was discharged on being granted a Commission as a Second Lieutenant and was attached to 8/East Yorkshire Regiment from 24 January 1917 : He was KILLED IN ACTION during the Battle of Arras in the attack at Monchy on 3 May 1917, where the Battalion suffered six Officers killed, one Officer wounded, thirty-five Other Ranks killed with a further 161 wounded and 39 missing : He is buried at Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez, France.) : Sold with verification, copy Census Records, copy CWGC. infomation, copy London Gazette entry and other related research all contained on a CD : GVF-NEF - £795
