Baltic Medal 1854-55, unnamed as issued; Second China War Medal 1857-60, no bar, privately engraved naming in bold upright serif capital letters - W. HAM : (WILLIAM JOHN DAVID HAM - Born 8 October 1838 at Portsea, Hampshire, entered the Royal Navy at HMS. 'Victory' on 2 March 1854 as a Boy 2nd.Class : Moved to HMS.'Hastings' as Boy 1st.Class from 2 January 1855 and was present in the ship during operations in the Baltic Sea : Moved to HMS. 'Nile' from 13 May 1856 and to HMS. 'Cambrian' from 21 April 1857 in which ship he served in the Second China War : Advanced to Ordinary Seaman from August 1857 and AB. from August 1859 : Advanced to Ship's Corporal from 4 January 1861 and moved to HMS. 'Narcissus' : Moved to HMS. 'Ariel' on 1 October 1862 and reverted to AB. from 12 April 1864 : Transferred to 'Victory' on 2 December 1864 and moved to HMS.'Liverpool' from 11 April 1866 when advanced to Ship's Corporal 2nd.Class : Continued to serve at sea in a number of ships, including, 'Rattlesnake', 'Duke of Wellington' and 'Asia' in which ship he was advanced to Ship's Corporal 1st.Class from 11 December 1869 : Further service in numerous ships through to retirement on 22 April 1875.) : Sold with verification and copy Service Record, generally GVF - £575
