Bars, 'Alma', 'Balaklava', 'Inkermann', 'Sebastopol' - officially impressed naming - H.HITCHCOCK, 68th.Regt. (Durham Light Infantry) : (1575 Private HENRY HITCHCOCK was killed in action at the Battle of Inkermann on 5 November 1854, where the Regiment had two Officers and eleven Other Ranks killed with a further two Officers (including Lieutenant-Colonel HARRY SMITH who was dangerously wounded), and thirty-three Other Ranks wounded, two of whom later died of their wounds: There is no other man named Hitchcock shown on the entire Roll of the Regiment serving in the Crimea.) : Sold with verification and copy Casualty Roll.
