Bar, 'Witu 1890', correctly impressed naming - C.H. EASHER, AB. HMS. Turquoise : (CHARLES HOENRYE GEORGE EACHER (EASHER on medal) - Born 10 October 1869 at Stokesby, Norfolk, a greengrocer by trade when on 17 February 1885 he joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd.Class at HMS. Boscawen. Advanced to Boy 1st Class from 17 February 1886 and joined HMS.Turquoise on 4 December of that year. Advanced to AB on 1 September 1888 and took part in the Witu Expedition in October 1890 whilst still serving in HMS. Turquoise. Continued to serve in various ships and at Shore Establishments and was advanced to Petty Officer 1st Class from 15 October 1897 whilst at HMS Pembroke. Joined HM. Coastguard as Boatman at Studland Bay, Weymouth from 17 December 1897. Pensioned from HM.Coastguard at President 4 as Leading Boatman on 12 March 1919.) Note slight difference in spelling of surname. Sold with verification and copy Service Record. Some light surface marks to obverse but generally GVF - £350
