K.McKENZIE, 1/Gordon Highlanders : (KENNETH McKENZIE - Born at Contin, Dingwall, Ross, Scotland around 1850 : Serving in the 92nd. Highlanders at the time of the 1871 Census, when he was recorded as resident at The Military Barracks, Castlehill East Parish, Aberdeen : Served with the Regiment in the Egypt Soudan Campaign of 1882 and again during the Soudan Campaign of 1884 : Was present at the actions of El-Teb on 29 February 1884 and Tamaai on 13 March 1884, where he was SEVERELY WOUNDED : He was invalided to Suez but on 31 March 1884, he died of his wounds.) : Sold with verification; copy Muster Rolls; copy Casualty List and copy of 'The Times' newspaper account of the action at Tamaai which includes a report of the recipient being wounded : Beautiful condition with almost no contact marking : A very scarce medal to a Tamaai casualty NEF - £1245
