(Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry) : (WILLIAM HENRY ROBERTS - Born at Truro, Cornwall around 1866 a labourer by trade on the date of attestation at Bodmin, 17 March 1885 : Served at home until 17 December 1885 when posted to Malta : Remained at Malta until 18 February 1888 when posted to India where he served until 25 November 1892 during which time he took part in the Wuntho Field Force Expedition of 1891 in Burma : Returned home on 26 November 1892 and was transferred to Army Reserve from 6 December 1892 : Discharged on 16 March 1897 on completion of twelve years service.) : Sold with verification and copy Service Papers : Engraver has repeated the Battalion number '1st.' in the naming of the medal otherwise NEF - £245
