INDIA GENERAL SERVICE MEDAL 1854, NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS

Bar, 'Hazara 1888', officially engraved naming in Indian running script - 1343 Pte J. WYATT, 2d. North'd Fus. (Northumberland Fusiliers) : (The 2nd. Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers served in the 'Black Mountain Expedition' as part of the Hazara Field Force between 1 October and 13 November 1888.) Sold with verification and details of the campaign. Latter part of the unit officially corrected as usually found because virtually all the India General Service Medals with this bar awarded to men of the Northumberland Fusiliers have the 'Fus' part of the unit officially corrected - presumably the medals were originally named 'North'd R.' prior to this error being discovered at the Royal Mint.(See similar medal sold at Noonans, 20 April 2022 as Lot 471.) Slight slackness at swivel otherwise GVF - £295
