WILLIAMS, A.B., Shannon : (THOMAS WILLIAMS - Born 30 November 1837 at Caernarvon, North Wales : A seaman by trade, he entered the Royal Navy and was appointed Able Seaman from 13 February 1857 : Joined the crew of HMS.'Shannon' at Calcutta from 14 September 1857 : Served with the Naval Brigade during the Indian Mutiny and was present at the Capture of Lucknow in March 1858 : Discharged to Shore 15 January 1859 : His medal was sent to him on 20 December 1861 : He is only man of this name on the Medal Roll for HMS.
