Dgn.Gds.(Dragoon Guards):(JAMES MORRIS TAMPLIN - Born around 1878 at Upper Wallingham (Warlingham), Croydon, Surrey, a labourer by trade, attested for the 1st.Dragoon Guards at Kingston-on-Thames on 14 March 1899 : Served at home until 10 March 1901 when the Regiment was deployed for service in South Africa. SEVERELY WOUNDED in action at Lindley, Orange River County on 8 December 1901,(bullet to right thigh which fractured the femur). Invalided to England on 29 April 1902 and "Discharged Medically unfit" on 31 July 1902 : On 23 November 1915 he again attested for military service and entered France with the Army Veterinary Corps on 21 December 1915. Transferred to Class 'Z' Army Reserve on Demobilization from 26 May 1919. He was entitled to the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal 1914-19.) : Sold with verification, copy Boer War and Great War Service Papers, copy Casualty Roll entry : Some contact wear to rim and polishing but a scarce medal to a Cavalry casualty, mounted on original ribbon : About VF - £345
