GASKIN, 63rd.Imp:Yeo. : (GEORGE HENRY GASKIN - Born at Acton, London, around 1881, an engineer by trade on the date of attestation for the Imperial Yeomanry, 29 January 1901 : Served in South Africa with the 63rd. Company from 1 March 1901 : Wounded in action at Reitz George, Orange River Colony on 10 November 1901, when he received gun-shot wounds to his right leg, resulting in a fractured tibia and knee joint : In the same engagement Lieutenant Mark Hastings of the 63rd.Company was killed : The recipient was subsequently invalided to England, arriving home on 6 January 1902 : On 17 March 1902 he was "Discharged as having been found medically unfit for further service" : Shown on Casualty Roll as "J.H.
